ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Master Chung, Youn Koo
Master Chung is the founder of both Institute of Juheng Acupuncture & Moxibustion (IJAM) and World Acupuncture Mission (WAM). He is the only heir of Juheng Acupuncture and received his teaching from his family lineage. Juheng Eastern Medicine was chosen for treating royal families in Korea about 800 years ago and continued its heritage until now. Master Chung is the only successor now. He traveled over 10 countries and served a humanitarian mission works, treating medically disadvantaged places with a team of Eastern medicine physicians. He established entire curriculum courses for IJAM, which is available through online interactive learning modules.
He is known as a true physician, a teacher, author, public speaker, and a mentor to many influential Eastern medicine physicians in S. Korea, and in the U.S. He authored a number of publications including ‘Juheng Acupuncture and Moxibustion.’ There are 1000 practitioners in South Korea and the U.S. who studied under him.
He is a U.S. citizen and came to the U.S. back in 1989 from S. Korea. He had his medical practice for over 32 years in Southern California, but now retired. And his main focus now is to pass on his knowledge and experience to his students and medical practitioners. His goal is to help people to understand the true principle of Eastern Medicine. The core of his teachings is based on natural healing, identify and treat the causes, holistic treatment, and preventive treatment through a right understanding of human life and how our body interacts with the mind and environment.
About Juheng Eastern Medicine: Juheng uses systematic and accurate treatment methods that are based on core principles of Eastern Medicine that have the tradition of thousands of years. This core Principle of Eastern Medicine of Juheng has been preserved and passed on through the Royal family’s treating physicians in South Korea for a thousand years. And now, Master Chung is the only successor. The trace of the core principle of Eastern Medicine is inherent in many different parts of Asia, not just in South Korea. But through a unique experience of Master Chung, the core principles have been re-established and now are taught. Unfortunately, Eastern medicine (known as Acupuncture in the U.S.) has been losing its original foundation. It is becoming like a myth due to a lack of understanding of the true principles of Eastern Medicine. Institute of Juheng Acupuncture & Moxibustion started with the mission to restore and establish the true and core principles of Eastern medicine, and many medical practitioners are joining the movement internationally.
